Our Regular Activities
Every month, on the second Monday, we meet at 7.30 pm in Rooms 2101 & 2102 at NSCC Kingstec, Belcher Street, Kentville, unless that day is a statutory holiday. In that event the Club meets on the following Monday.

The program consists of a short business meeting, followed by a presentation on an educational topic, often with slides, and then ends with refreshments and socializing. An exchange table for plants, for seeds, or for garden catalogues is often part of the program.

In May, the Club holds a Plant Sale for the public. This is our most important fund-raiser. The Club relies on the money raised to support our Philanthropic activities.

We have two Garden Tours annually– the Members’ Gardens Tour and a Bus Tour.

One summer Saturday afternoon is spent visiting members who have invited us to tour their gardens. On the Bus Tour we visit three or four Gardens and/or Nurseries beyond the Wolfville – Kentville area. Nursery visits can offer an opportunity to buy plants at good prices.

Annual Flower and Vegetable Show.
This is held each August. It is open to members and the general public. Members display the results of their gardening endeavours for the judges and other members. In recent years, it has included a display related to gardening.

September Corn Boil.
Before the September meeting we enjoy an outdoor supper with corn on the cob, hot dogs and desserts, a social meeting which started in September, 1992.

Annual General Meeting.
Our AGM, held in November, takes the form of a banquet with reports, election of officers, presentation of awards and a speaker.

We are members of the Nova Scotia Association of Garden Clubs (NSAGC) and attend the Annual Convention. Each spring we have a District Meeting with other member garden clubs in our area.
